CHAPEL SPA IS A MEDITERRANEAN-STYLE DAY SPA SET IN THE PEACEFUL SURROUNDINGS OF A 19TH CENTURY CHAPEL IN CHELTENHAM’S HEART

Jarvis & Hudson’s brief was to project-manage the complete rebrand and relaunch of the only independent day spa in Cheltenham across all platforms. These included the redesign and production of all marketing collateral, including brochures, signage, e-newsletters and the website. As well as advising on an interior design makeover during the spa’s refurbishment, we were also responsible for all social media activity and production of newsletters. These drove traffic to the new website, created new interest and increased sales. Ongoing, we’re responsible for forging Chapel Spa’s relationships with Cotswold hotels and corporate businesses.

Set in the peaceful surroundings of a 19th century chapel, Chapel Spa is a Mediterranean-Style day spa – a treasured, long-established spa retreat in Cheltenham’s heart. After its refurbishment to a high standard in December 2013, we were employed to relaunch the rejuvenated spa and restore the interest it deserved.
 
Working with an award-winning Gloucestershire photographer and our sister design agency Whistle & Taylor, we were engaged to oversee and project-manage photoshoots (including styling) and a new brand identity. This included a new logo featuring the spa’s iconic chapel window and a lotus flower as the new identity.
 
The new brand was rolled out across redesigned marketing material. Using a robust client-engagement strategy, we aimed to increase audience interaction, product awareness and interest in Chapel Spa’s new Elemis treatments. This involved actively engaging with the online beauty community through paid online spa forums and communities. We did this by uploading images, creating interesting content and promoting Chapel Spa competitions on Facebook and Twitter. The key was sharing the brand story visually with graphics and engaging photography. We also gave their audience product information via newsletters and online promotions.
 
Using a variety of content formats, we positioned the new owner, Mena Louka, as an inspiring leader in the beauty industry. We achieved this across social media through PR coverage and Chapel Spa’s brand story.

 
A key part of the story was introducing and launching a wide range of revolutionary new treatments. These included Biotec and Chapel Spa’s own ‘Ease’ brand of natural oils and treatments. To celebrate their introduction, showcase the new Biotec treatments and promote Chapel Spa as the Cotswolds’ first spa to offer them, we organised a successful launch evening.
 
As part of our ongoing engagement strategy, we organise launch evenings and events. We also produce photography, engaging content and create branded graphics for seasonal promotions and special offers (e.g. Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and other key calendar events). We do this across all marketing platforms including A-boards, website, leaflets, Twitter, Facebook and in-house POS.
 
We also continue to work with our sister company, Whistle & Taylor, on the design of brochures, vouchers, seasonal leaflets and other marketing material. We’re also responsible for monitoring and responding to all online reviews, including TripAdvisor.
